Timeline Item 8
We believe that celebrating Women’s day at Corporates and talking about Women’s progress is not the only way how women empowerment is possible.
Poor women, especially in rural areas, struggle to get a clean piece of cloth to manage their period every month. There is a lack of awareness about menstrual health and hygiene. Living in a culture of shame and silence, they end up using poor substitutes like rags and ash, or worse they use NOTHING.
Thus on the occasion of women’s day on 8th March 2022, Behala Sumangala madea distribution of Sanitary napkins to the rural women. We discussed personal hygiene and puberty with these women.
Food packet distribution of about 100 packets were also given these local rural population. The Event proved to be great success were locals participated at large numbers.
